In case you didn't figure it out. I am very bad at blogging. I enjoy making stuff and showing pictures, but not so much into the writing part. So I have not been updating this site at all. I know I am a baaaddd blogger. But it is Christmas and I love making cards, so I thought I could share on here. No wording descriptions, just a picture. I'm visual anyhow, so this works for me, hop it does here as well.
I made several cards so far, but hope to continue making more. There are to many cards, so little time. I'll put them all in the Store site if your interested in purchasing. Onto the pictures.

Playing Catch up
Sorry to leave you all hanging on new posts. As with everything I do lately I have a small issue that is leading to big problems. I already lost the usb cord to my camera. And well what fun is a craft post with no pictures. So I'll put some random googled pictures here for you. Just cuz I'm nice like that. I am hoping that one of my boys accidentally brought it back to college with them. And will be getting it back soon.
For now I'll let you know a few things to be expecting. I have been working on a few different projects. My main project was painting an old bookshelf that I have had for years. With updating my living room the color of it did not work anymore, so I painted it white and added some details.
While working on the shelf I also painted a large mirror for my living room. It has been hanging on one of my walls as long as I can remember. In all the various places I have lived it always had a home. I much preferred it over a fireplace mantel, but in my current apartment I am fireplace free, so a wall has to do.
I also brought out my sewing machine for the first time in awhile. I made a cute little cover for it, and a bag for me. I like my bag, but I made the handles way to short, so that's something I will also work on.
I have not forgot about my beloved silhouette. I whipped up a few lat minute father day decorations and I am currently working on fourth of July stuff.
In the exciting news front I won a craft blog contest that came with tons, and I do mean tons of crafting embellishments. So I made a few adjustments to my craft room to make room for them all. If you are a crafter then you know how hard storage is, I made lots and lots of drawers to hold all my new stuff.

Paper is taking over the world.
Hi friends just a quick update on some of my storage solutions. After all the mothers day cards I made I had a bunch of housework and rest to get caught up on. I have to admit I was sort of tired of all things crafty for a a week or so. There was paper pieces every where. Ever walk through the house and then realize you have little tiny pieces of paper scraps stuck to the bottom of you feet? What a mess. It's all organized now and back to somewhat normal. This is what I did.
Part of putting it all away took some doing. With all the cards being made recently I had scraps galore. And everyone knows that even the smallest scrap can be used, besides I'm cheap like that. So whats a crafter to do? Make a scrap box of course.
For the smaller scraps I have them organized by color and by shapes. When I cut out designs I oftenmake mistakes, have extra pieces, to big to small, or just doesn't look right. For the small scraps, like under 8 inches, I put them in a box. There used to be just a big pile of a mess. Now there are tabs for each color. There are also separate tabs for things like squares, circles, hearts etc. I find that I can grab them easily when I just need a small piece of a certain color. Then I put all the tabs into a photo box. It still needs decorating, but that's for another day. The box sits on my craft table, which is way to messy for me to show you.
Each tab was cut using my silhouette. Then the coordinating color inserted into the tab. It would have been a lot easier to just do some print and cuts. But not as fun!
My larger pieces are stored by color in 12 x 12 scrapbook page protectors. Not so sure this method is going to work for the long run, but it's alright for now. I then put them into a magazine style box, more on that below.
I cut them into magazine style holders and then covered. I tried a few methods of covering them. All pink of course. Painting them was tedious and I needed several coats to cover up the printed boxes. The paint also weakened the integrity of the box, surprise cardboard doesn't like getting wet. But this worked the best. Sure wish I had thought of using spray paint.
So I began covering them with pink wrapping paper. That so did not work.
The paper was easier, but I foresee them ripping in the future. The wrapping paper also bubbled heavily with the glue. Could have been that it's the cheap dollar store paper, or that I put to much glue. Who knows. Needless to say I did not use this method for the rest of my boxes. They all need a label made for the colors they hold, but they are the basics- red, blue green, multi-colored etc.
They are all on my little book shelf for easy access. I liked them on the top shelf so I could just pull the paper out from the top without having to remove the entire box.
The bottom shelf holds my other photo boxes that I store things like glitter, glue, paint etc. For now they have little hand written labels. so much to do, so little time!
I have several friends with Birthdays this week, so I have been making a lot of cards. I can't post them yet because then it will ruin their surprise. However as soon as I give them out I'll share them here. I am using a few of the new designs. Some that I came up with, and some just regular shapes.

Much better then the big pile of messy paper I had going on. This one still needs covered.
So that's what I do with the scraps. But your asking, Tracie what do you do with the unused sheets. Well those are in my homemade magazine file boxes. I got some free flat rate shipping boxes from the USPS. Gotta love me some free stuff.

Pretty Flowery Stuff and a heart felt memory
For most people they say TGIF today, not me. I have been off work for a few extra days vacation time. But today it's back to the grind. Instead of taking a week at a time vacation I decided this year I will just take a few days at a time when I need a break. I am well rested up though, and even managed to get a little crafting done.
Today's post is all about catch up. I got so busy making stuff I forgot to show you the things that I am working on.
Just when you thought it was over, here is one more Mother's Day card I thought was really pretty. When I was told she wanted black and white I was a bit nervous, but I think it looks great and is worth a picture.
And here it is on his Moms car after he sneaked the car away for a bit and surprised her.

Very pretty if I do say so myself.
The online Silhouette store had a huge sale of 50% off shapes so I had to get a few new ones. Lori Whitlock makes some really nice files and usually has nice tutorials on her blog about how to put them together. Here are a few new shapes that I got and gave to a friend who loves green.
I have also been practicing working with vinyl. I am to cheap, conservative to make stuff that isn't useful, and I couldn't have a ton of decals on my own car, so I offered a few peeps a free car decal of anything the wanted so I could make things for them and not feel guilty if it wasn't perfect. Here are a few of them.
This is just the mock up, i forgot to take a photo of the made decal, go figure. But trust me it's all cute and pink.
Minnie is for my car.
For a Tennessee Titans fan
For my Packers loving friend.
The last one deserves some further explanation. As a gift for his Mom on Mother's day I was asked if I could make a large memorial window decal with his grandfathers info on it. Such a sweet gesture of a caring son. This was my biggest vinyl project to date. It took some extra vinyl and trips to the store to get it just right, but I am happy it turned out so well.
I am ready to put my vinyl skills to the ultimate test and put some wall art on my newly painted walls. Now for the hard part of deciding what to put on them!

Mother's Day Card Bonanza the Sequel
The countdown to Mother's Day continues with some more cards that I have made. These are a bit more detailed then my last set. I'm lovin the colors. I had brought a few of the cards I made to work with me and it became apparent that people liked the shaped cards with the 3 D flowers. Much to my Pink loving dismay, everyone seemed to like purple more then pink :(

I am no where close to completing the orders that I have, so no doubt there will be many more pictures to come. If you happen to see one you like, please let me know soon so I can get started with a design for the special Mom in your life.
