Happy St. Patrick's Day

May the luck of the Irish be with you, may your pinches be few, may you find your gold at the end of the rainbow.

This week I have been so busy creating this blog, my crafting adventures were put on hold. I just whipped up a few quick things to decorate for St. Patrick's day. I do not have a wonderful fireplace mantel, so I hung a simply display shelf to display some holiday decor in my living room.

As you can see my photo skills are to say the least lacking, before you scroll further you have been warned.  I see a tripod in my distant future. For St. Patrick's Day I make a few cutouts on my Silhouette Cameo. A cute little leprechaun hat and a frame. Out of like 100 pictures the one would not come out clear. Believe or or not, this was was the clearest one. I blame it on the glass and glitter. More details can be seen in the closeups when I took them out of the frame.

My little leprechaun hat has a cute little buckle.

Since today is St. Patrick's day I thought I would remove some of the elements from the frame and wear them as make shift buttons for work.

I hope your day is the luckiest ever.

Confession Time

I have a confession to make, I am addicted to my computer and  more specifically the internet. Whether it be my laptop, desktop or tablet, if I'm not crafting or working my regular job, I can usually be found on one or two of these miracle devices. I have no idea what the world did before computers. Need to learn how to fix a car, it's on the internet. Need to look up the instructions for a card game, it's on the internet. Not that I use it much, but even if you want to organize you favorite recipes, yup you guessed it, internet.  I can not remember the last time I used a paper map or phone book.

I love reading other blogs. I'm connected to other crafters sites, to news sites, and so many more to keep up with. I have used Google's e reader for many years to keep in touch with the world. Recently I got some sad news. Their e reader is going away as of July 1st. I and many other people have to find a new way to get their daily incites into the world. Thankfully there is a easy solution. I signed up for a Bloglovin" account. Their site make it super easy to switch over to their e reader. A couple clicks with the mouse  to transfer my followed blogs and I was all set up.

Sign up for a Bloglovin" account here  and see how easy it is to switch from Google's e reader just go here,  and follow their simple instructions.

If your a blogger you can also clam your blog on there to declar it as yours. There is some simple code tey will tell you to enter. Here is my example <a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/5573301/?claim=jjcgpyhsjjj">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a> ( You will have a unique code, so don't copy and paste mine).
Hope this helps you stay connected to the big world outside.

Exploding Tealight Box

Birthdays were made for crafts

A very sweet friend of mine celebrated her Birthday this week, so whats a crafty girl to do? Make a gift of course. I knew I wanted to make something on my Silhouette Cameo. What is a Silhouette Cameo you ask? Only the best invention since sliced bread. Basically it is like a printer that you hook up to your computer, however, instead of just printing it cuts. For the most part I have just been working on simply cards and Holiday decorations. The Cameo also cuts vinyl, can you say wall art, tumblers, and rhinestone shirts! The possibilities are endless.

Silhouette Cameo

For my friends Birthday I played around with a couple card designs, but I wanted to take my Silhouette Cameo skills to the next level. Enter the exploding box! Don't be afraid, this isn't a Macgyver post. I modified the Scalloped Exploding Box from the Silhouette Online Store. I love all the 3 D shapes they have. This one is by Snapdragon Snippets LLC. They have some great designs, but I wish they would make it easier to find out how to put them together. Please forgive some of my blurry photos. I may have had just a bit to much coffee before taking the pictures. I won't keep you in suspense any longer, here it is.

Exploding tea light candle box

It started off as just the box with the individuale pages inside that I thought I could add a few of her pictures to.

But I thought well now I have to figure out something to put in the box. Hmmm... a cute animal cutout, candy, jewelry, oh no my friends every Birthday needs a cake. I then made a adorable 3D cake for it. Along with some cute little balloons and presents floating in mid air (with the help from a little wire).

It needed something more though. Whats a cake without candles? BORING. My cake and box are made out of paper and card stock though, in comes the flame-less tea light candle.

And here she is. I can see many more of these being made in my crafting future. I hope my friend enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it.
Stay tuned, tomorrow is vinyl day! Yippy

Welcome

Thanks for taking a chance on looking at my blog about the fun I have making crafts.

Precariously Pink is the result of my love for PINK, and precariously means to depend on chance circumstances, unknown conditions, or uncertain developments. Anyone into crafts will tell you that they are precarious. Sometimes your plan turns out great, other times not so much. So happy I get to share with you.

I enjoy paper crafts, card making, vinyl, and my wonderful new Silhouette Cameo. This thing is amazing. If your into any sort of crafts I highly recommend getting yourself one of these babies. Here is a quick link to check out. Silhouette America.

I'll soon be posting some pictures of a few of the projects I have already created. With any luck I can figure out how to link my blog to my Facebook page, store site etc., that way I can bug everyone at all hours of the night and share. Go ahead, click one one or all of the subscribe to links and you'll get word when I make any updates.
